My question is..... You have decided to buy your tractor from an 'out of the area' (non local) dealer due to better pricing. You gave the local dealer a chance to match (or come close to) the other dealers price, but they wouldnt do it. How receptive is your local dealer at doing both warranty and non-warranty repair work on your new purchase. I would quess that some are happy to get any service work.. and some may not want to do any work on a machine they did not sell.. Any comments or experience with this...

This topic has been discussed at some length in the past, I believe on this forum as well as another one. As you said, some will be glad to get the service work, and perhaps some have enough business they really don't want any more. I believe most, if not all, of the manufacturers require their dealers to do warranty work whether they sold the piece of equipment or not. From what I've seen and read, a dealer may put his own customers ahead of those who bought elsewhere, but will gladly service other equipment also. ....

I actually asked my dealer that point blank when I was in the process of buying. He said they would service it but they wouldn't go out of their way and wouldn't give loaners etc. I did buy from them and the service has been so good that I think they are being devious (joke). ....
